Thundercat feat. Michael McDonald & Kenny Loggins – “Show You The Way”

Thundercat‘s latest shockingly enlists legends Michael McDonald (Steely Dan) and Kenny Loggins for an alluring track built on plenty of blissful synths entitled “Show You the Way.”  The vocals meld perfectly over the beat crafted by Flying Lotus and Thundercat himself.   Look for the track on his next LP, Drunk, which will feature Pharrell, Kendrick Lamar and Wiz Khalifa dropping February 24.  Definitely press play below if you’re in need of a melodious escape.

Syd – “All About Me”

After The Internet dropped their Grammy nominated Ego Death album, Syd steps out solo with her long-awaited new single “All About Me.”  The dark, yet sultry track produced by colleague Steve Lacy, stresses the importance of keeping ties with her tight-knight circle and features cameos from the band and her affiliated Odd Future family.  Watch below.

Kid Cudi feat. Travis Scott – “Baptized in Fire”

Earlier this year, “Through The Late Night” (off Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight), marked Travis Scott‘s first time dream collaboration with his biggest influence, Kid Cudi.  La Flame teams up with his idol again on “Baptized in Fire.”  The two croon over a bass-heavy dark and interstellar production that will be included on Cudder‘s upcoming album  Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ expected December 16.  Listen here.

$ilk Money (of group Divine Council) is the latest to get blessed with a godly verse from Andre 3000 on the “Decemba (Remix).”  According to $ilk, the rare appearance over the synth-heavy track came together due to 3 Stacks’ admiration for the group.

“That *igga flew from Texas to New York just to see us perform. He was saying how we remind him of Outkast because he ain’t never heard anything like us,” he to Rolling Stone.  Listen to the song here.

Freddie Gibbs – “All Day”

Freddie Gibbs is finally back in action with his first song release since January.  The Gary rapper was exonerated from sexual assault charges in September and is now back on his infamous grind.  Listen to the rhythmic “All Day” produced by Brooklyn’s Harry Fraud below on SoundCloud.

Childish Gambino – “Redbone” & “Me & Your Mama”

After Childish Gambino‘s FX series Atlanta recorded the biggest cable debut since 2013 , the rapper/actor/writer/director makes his return to music with the fantastically retro “Redbone.”  Donald Glover strays away from the current landscape with outlandishly Funky production and no hint of rapping.  Check for it on his  Awaken, My Love! album on December 2.  Listen to the cut and his other psychedelic single “Me and Your Mama” below.

John Legend feat. Chance the Rapper – “Penthouse Floor”

R&B star John Legend and one of Hip Hop’s current favorites, Chance The Rapper, come together to grace their listeners with a melodious new track “Penthouse Floor.”  Chance drops another solid verse with his trademark imaginative flow as John Legend croons picturesque lyrics over funky bass and strings.

The Cool Kids feat. Maxo Kream – “Running Man”

After a 5 year hiatus, rapping duo Sir Michael Rocks and Chuck Inglish are back with a fresh new cut interspersed with pulsing bass and catchy vocals.  Featuring Maxo Kream, “Running Man” is  definitely a strong comeback that reminds listeners of their unmistakable chemistry.  Listen below via Audiomack.

Detroit rapper/singer/songwriter Persia Grai  has been busy making waves in his own right.  Opening for artists like Big Sean and getting airplay on Hot 107.5, his latest, “Calabasas,” exudes commendable honesty and vulnerability on a harmonious track produced by False Ego.

Touching on fear along the road to stardom, personal doubt and deaths in the family, the track comes to a hopeful conclusion: “The pendulums of pain & joy are truthfully what make life/Pain is no excuse to waste life..right?”  Listen below.
